Jim Holleran (1965)

Jack, was my oldest brother. He was my business partner at the time of his death. He was killed by a car onI-95 while bringing his daughter Lynn home after her being in a coma for over two months. He was out of his car rescuing two Marines from  their vehicle that caught on fire while they were traveling back to the Pentagon.

It was a rainey night and visibility was very poor.  Jack was hit while returning to his vehical by a women who was moving at high speed and was killed. His daughter did not witness the accident.  She was parked  on the road ahead of the incident.

My Brothers, Mart and Charles, and I were devaststated  and think of Jack every day. He was a great dad to his children , John and Lynn, a wonderful husband to his wife Gail and a best friend to his  brothers Martin, Charles and me (Jim).

Jack was buried with Full Military Honors in Arlington National Cementary for his 25+ years of service in the United States Air Force. His last assignment was in War Mobilization Planning and IT at  the Pentagon were Captin Jack Holleran served with great distinction. When he died he was Chairmen and CEO of SBX.

He is missed.

Thank you Jim for posting those details about Jack's death. I have often wondered what happened to him, and I appreciate finally learning about it. It happened almost 30 years ago, but reading about it makes it feel recent. My condolences to his family.

Prospect Ave. and the Palm St. hills

Considered by some and rightfully so

The spiritual heart of South Side.

Seems as though just yesterday

We kids roamed freely there and

Memory tells us it was time well spent.

In truth, now a lifetime of love and

Sorrow, as our ranks thin one by one

Your brother Jack was one of our own.

One for all and all for one…God bless him.
