Ann Cawley (Brazil) - Class Of 1960

Ann Brazil Cawley of Moscow died Wednesday at home after a long battle with emphysema. Ann is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Cawley Jr.  Born in Scranton on Aug. 22, 1942, daughter of John and Margaret Brazil, she was a member of St. Eulalia's Parish, Moscow. Ann graduated from South Catholic High School in 1960 before marrying Paul on Oct. 25, 1961. Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Jefferson Twp., and started their family, which Ann considered her greatest accomplishment.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Nothing meant more to Ann, lovingly known by her grandchildren as "Monya, Meem or Gram," than the ones she loved.   She showed the utmost kindness and care to everyone she met, family and friends alike.   Ann passed knowing she was greatly loved, and will be truly missed by all who knew her.  Also surviving are her three children, daughter, Linda Wasko and husband, Dave, Spring Brook Twp.; son, Paul J. Cawley III, Moscow; and daughter, Kimberly Piasecki, Scranton; and nine grandchildren, Carissa, Douglas Jr., Clifford and Brianna Young; Katelyn and Paul Cawley IV; and Edmund IV, Shailin and Brennah Piasecki.  She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry and Jack Brazil; a sister, Marjorie Martini; and a granddaughter, Eillish Piasecki.  In accordance with her wishes, Ann has been cremated, and a Mass in her honor will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Ann Basilica, 1239 St. Ann St., Scranton.
