Ellen A. Miller, 71, of Scranton, passed away Tuesday, June 26, at Allied Hospice.

Daughter of the late William A. and Helen Berry Miller, Ellen graduated from South Scranton Catholic High School, Robert Packer Hospital as a surgical technician and King's College with an associate degree in its first physician's assistant program. Before retirement, Ellen worked in the operating room at Community Medical Center and was a physician's assistant to the late Dr. Patrick J. Ferraro.

Ellen is survived by seven sisters, Kathleen McLaughlin; Mary Jane Prislupsky and husband, Robert; Betsy Walsh and husband, Jack; Margaret Glancey and husband, David; Patricia Davis and husband, Ernie; Mara Miller and husband, Rich Mancia; Ann Gilmartin and husband, Mike; sisters-in-law, Deborah and Doreen Miller; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Samson.

She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Annmarie Brady, Marianne Capwell, William and Thomas Miller. 

A memorial service will be July 7 at the White Tail Pavilion at Lackawanna State Park, 1839 N. Abington Road, North Abington Twp., at 3 p.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, an Ellen Miller memorial fund has been set up at the First National Bank, 601 W. Lackawanna Ave., Scranton, PA 18503. Arrangements are under the care of the Hickory Crematory & Cremations Services of NEPA LLC, 307 Hickory St., Scranton.
