Bernard J. Stahurski, 73, of Buffalo Junction, VA, died January 16, 2020 at home.  He was the beloved husband of Winifred M. Clemente.      The couple had been married for 49 years.

             Born on January 10, 1947 in Scranton, he was the son of the late John F. Stahurski and  Ann Gaughan. He attended St. John the Evangelist Grade School and was a 1964 graduate of South Scranton High School and a 1967 graduate of Packer Hospital School of Nursing,

Sayre, PA.  He received his anesthesia training and certification from St. Francis Hospital School of Anesthesia, Pittsburgh, PA.  His career began in the U.S. Navy serving as a medic in Vietnam followed by assignment as a medic for the U.S. Marines.  Following discharge, he was a clinical instructor of nurses at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, VA before becoming a full-time nurse anesthetist at South Boston Hospital in South Boston, VA. 

             Also surviving are a daughter, Wendy Schile, Charlotte, NC; a daughter Kristy Johnson, Lynchburg, VA; and granddaughters, Kelsey and Kara Johnson. 

             He was preceded in death by a brother. Rev. Thomas Stahurski.

Thomas Konopka (1965)

So sorry for your loss. He and I were good friends during our high school years, he gave me a few driving tips and I used his parents Chevy Corvair to take my driving. Lost touch after high school. May he rest in peace.
