IN MEMORY

Robert Dougher - Class Of 1965

It is with great sadness to announce the peaceful passing of Robert "Bob" Dougher, 76, on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Allied Services Hospice Center, Scranton, PA surrounded by his family.

Bob was the son of Robert J. Dougher, Sr. and Mary Wynn Dougher.

He has always been our witty Irishman with the good fortune of enjoying life with his family and long-time friends.  He was a graduate of South Scranton Central Catholic High School in 1965 and continued his education at the University of Scranton earning a B.A. degree in 1970.

Bob was recognized for his service on many community boards in the region and his service in the National Guard.  Prior to retirement, he was General Manager of Operations at Laminations.

Perhaps what captures a quick description of Bob can be simply stated handsome, a sharp dresser, social, a man with a great sense of humor and an enjoyment of good jokes, lazy days with good friends, vacations at the MD shore with family and friends, sunshine and golf.  What he valued throughout his life were his family, his caring and supportive wife, Sharon, of 50 years, grandchildren, Patrick and Liam, and true buddies...and would you believe, a collector of glass coke bottles.

The family wishes to especially thank Allied Services Hospice Unit for its kind and gentle care the final days of his life.

Bob is survived by his wife, Sharon, son, Brian Dougher (Christa), grandsons, Patrick and Liam, sister, Diane Dougher Thornton (Robert), Florida, sister-in law Karen Finnerty, brother-in-law Barry Gilhooley, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister-in-law Jeanne Finnerty Gilhooley, brother-in-law Danny Finnerty
