Patrick J Dougherty - Class Of 1969

Patrick J. Dougherty, 63, a lifelong resident of South Scranton, died early Friday morning in the Moses Taylor Hospital after a brief illness.  Born in Scranton, son of the late Francis T. and Frances McLaud Dougherty, he was a member of the former St. Mary of Assumption Church and a graduate of South Catholic High School.  He attended East Stroudsburg University, and graduated from Lackawanna Junior College.  He was a member of the Nativity Social Club, and before retirement had been employed by Notarianni Trucking.  Patrick was a very generous and kind man.   He had many friends, and was loved by everyone who knew him.   He will be deeply missed.  He was an avid Notre Dame football fan.  Surviving are two brothers, Thomas Dougherty and his wife, Carole, Old Forge; and John Dougherty, Jermyn; his longtime friend and companion, Tina Howe and her daughter, Frances Howe, Scranton; as well as many other extended family members and several nieces and nephews.  He was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Terrance Dougherty.
