William J. Nolan William J. Nolan, 68, formerly of Pittston, died Tuesday March 1, 2016,, in Maryland. Born in Scranton, son of the late Leo and Irene Kane Nolan, he was a graduate of South Catholic High School, Scranton, and Anthracite College, Scranton.

He worked as an accountant in the Scranton/Wilkes­Barre area. Bill was a kind and gentle soul, and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife, Mary Shannon Nolan, and his son, William Howard Nolan, both of Pittston; a brother, Leo Nolan and his wife, Olga, Scranton; and his sister Diane Speare and her son, William, Scranton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, Corpus Christi Parish, Luzerne Avenue, West Pittston. Family and friends are asked to go directly to church Tuesday morning. Friends may call Monday, 6 to 8 p.m., at the Anthony Recupero Funeral Home, 406 Susquehanna Ave., West Pittston. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Cemetery, Carverton.
